So, tonight's the night again :) The Voice is going to be on at 9 PM Eastern time on NBC. If you are going to be watching and online, join me on my twitter account @jamiebmusings to see live reactions and chat about the show. Speaking of the show... I found a couple of artices on theboot.com about Blake and Miranda.
Blake's talks a little bit about what it's like on the set of the show and the possibility of returning for season 2. I, for one, hope that he is able to get it all worked out. I love his comments! Who is your favorite "Voice" judge? Comment and let me know.

Girl's Night Out and Looking Ahead.....
So, apparently whatever is possessing my TV decided to cut me a break. I got to see the Girl's Night Out special on CBS the other night and what a show it was! They honored Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Nettles, Martina McBride and more.
Each person had a short video played about them and then one of their songs was played by another artist. After that, the honoree got to sing as well. My favorite performance was Carrie's "How Great Thou Art". Other highlights included Little Big Town's version of "Independence Day" and Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley singing "Hell on Heels". Rascal Flatts also did a good job with Reba's "Why Haven't I Heard From You". Here are a few videos from the special... Enjoy! And check your local listings for any potential repeats... especially on GAC or CMT if you missed it the first time around.
Check back in a couple of days when I will have a special post out about the book Across the Galaxy along with a Q&A with the author!

Looking Ahead....
Tomorrow I hope to have a post up about a special program airing Friday.... for now, I would like to mention a couple of cool things I noticed on yahoo news. First off, there's going to be a special called Girl's Night Out on CBS on the 22nd. Just looking at the rundown for this one is getting me excited. All my favorites are going to be there and it looks like the duets are going to be good.
Also... Miranda Lambert is getting into the TV business. Apparently, she and her mother are going to serve as executive producers for a new ABC Family drama. No, it's not going to be about a country singer, but it is something related to her real life. Check out the details here.

ACM Awards
Just a reminder to tune in to CBS tonight at 8 PM eastern time to catch the Academy of Country Music Awards. I'll most likely be splitting my time between the show and the first new Desperate Housewives episode in quite a while. To see what you can expect from the awards tonight, check out yahoo!news' preview.
What is your choice for tonight? Comment and let me know...

Get Ready....
I'm working on a little something about Miranda Lambert after listening to her new CD, Revolution. Before I get to that, though, I wanted to come and let you know that October 15th is the day I'll be posting that link I mentioned. You won't wanna miss it!

CMT's Big Weekend...
So, who caught the CMT Big New Music Weekend? They debuted videos from Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Reba and more. I think the most surprising video was Carrie's. She actually dances a little bit in it! Not sure how I feel about that, but the song is fun and she sounds great.
Miranda's was one of those that actually made me like the song more. I was iffy on the lyrics, but the melody, instrumentation and visuals changed my opinion quite a bit. I don't wanna say too much about the video, cause I think it'll spoil it. Just trust me when I say it's a cute video.
Tim McGraw's Southern Voice is a feel good, relaxing kind of song, although the video kind of bored me. It was clips of him performing at the NLF Kick-Off mixed with clips of him jamming with a bunch of guys outside a store.
Reba's video for Consider Me Gone was different, yet more of the same. While she actually acted out the story herself in "Strange", the new clip has her returning to the narrator role as she plays a designer a girl comes to after having trouble with her guy.
So, who else saw these clips? Were there any that were your favorites? Any you didn't care for? Comment and let's talk about it.

Miranda Lambert "What Are You Gonna Do?"

"You can waste your life looking for something to look forward to. you can chase it, but when you catch it what are you gonna do?"
The song is mid-tempo and accoustically-driven, although it picks up during the chorus as other instruments join in. Miranda's vocals are great, better than most of her other work so far (something that appears to be the case for the disc as well). If you haven't been able to download it, check youtube- this is a must hear for Miranda fans... especially if you love stuff like "More Like Her" and "Desperation".

Just dropping in to let y'all know we have official confirmation now. Carrie Underwood's new CD will be released on November 3rd. They issues a press release earlier to break the news. Still no album title though. As more information comes out, I'll let you know.
This is sure a busy time, huh? Carrie, Brad, Miranda and SheDaisy are all releasing new music this year. Can't wait to hear it all. Who are you all most looking forward to? Comment and let me know!

Miranda News....
Hey everyone!! Just saw that Miranda's been working on her video for "Dead Flowers". I guess that means we'll be seeing the video in the new few weeks, depending on what effects are added.
So what do you all think of the song anyway? I personally enjoyed it, but just not as much as her others. Still, i enjoy it and I'm looking forwar dto the release her her new album Revolution. For anyone who hasn't heard the song yet, here is a performance that was posted online:

The Best and the Worst: 2008
Good Afternoon, everyone!! I’m here to start the new year off right with a look at my personal highlight and lowlights of ‘08. Feel free to share yours, too!
As I mentioned before, I loved Miranda Lambert’s increased success this year. It’s been a long time coming.
LeAnn Rimes releasing ‟What I Cannot Change‟ as a single.
Brad Paisley and Keith Urban teaming up for ‟Start a Band‟.
LeAnn Womack’s single ‟Last Call‟.
Jessica Andrews getting signed to a new label and putting out a single to country radio again.
Brad Paisley getting a taste of his own medicine when Jewel played a trick on him.
Tim McGraw letting Curb and his fans know he is not happy with the latest Greatest Hits release.
Carrie Underwood being invited to the grand Ole Opry.
Getting the chance to chat with Can You Duet? contestants and new Big Machine recording artists Kate and Kacey Coppola via MySpace.
Dolly’s ‟Jesus and Gravity‟.
Discovering the talent that is Minnie Murphy.
Sugarland’s ‟Love on the Inside‟ CD
Lowlights:
Nashville Star and the fact it had very little to do with Country this year.
A former member suing Sugarland, claiming she’s owed money from the continued success.
The passing of Eddie Arnold.
Gone Country. Hmm... John Rich isn’t doing too well this year, is he?
Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus performing on the CMT awards.
The continued delays of CDs by Jo Dee Messina, Danielle Peck and others this year. (At least Danielle finally got a digital release...)
The end of the Wreckers.
Mindy McCreedy’s continued troubles.
Jessica Simpson crossing over to Country.

Year-End Review....
Hi, everyone! This is my first post talking about some of my favorites in 2008. I hope you'll respond with your own and we can get a conversation going :) Today, I wanna talk about one of my favorite moments of the year: Miranda Lambert's big year.
She's such a talented artist and I've always wondered why she hasn't been recognized more by the industry. Well, this year seems to have started turning things around. Miranda won an "Album of the Year" award and got her first top 10 hit in '08. I was pleasently shocked by it all. Hopefully, more is to come in 2009. Haven't heard her CD Crazy Ex-Girlfriend yet? What are you waiting for? Go out and get it- you won't be sorry! Check out the link to CMD's old home above to see my review. Meanwhile, check out a performance of her latest single "More Like Her".
Take care and see y'all next time!

Third Time's the Charm...
At least, that's what two country singers will be hoping for. Both Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood are setting their sights on new albums in 2009. While Carrie doesn't have a target date, Miranda's is scheduled for sometime in the fall.
I'm already excited for these releases. They two of my favorites and always manage to put together an album that keeps me hitting the "replay" button. I'm hoping also, given the fact Miranda's had what is probably her most successful year yet, that 2009 will be the one that sees her becoming a true star in the country world. The girl deserves more radio play and awards.
As for Carrie... I agree with the fans out there who'd like to see her try a more traditional sound. I think she does great at it and who better to take a risk like that than one of the biggest on radio? It's not like they'd shun her like they considered doing when LeAnn's "Blue" first came out. I think she's due for a more artistic record, don't you? Post your comments and let me know what you think about all this. Take care and see y'all later! I'll leave you with the song that got Miranda her first top 10: Gunpowder and Lead, courtesy of
Kristi on youtube. Enjoy!
