Beware Carrie Underwood? or Line, Please

Yes, the boot has announced that Carrie has been listed as one of the most dangerous celebrities by an anti-virus company. They say don't worry too much, though. Her position on the list isn't that high. The article does fill you in on what celebrities you might wanna watch out for, though. It also shares some of Carrie's thoughts on social networking and technology.

Found something else while browsing TheBoot. It's a listing of the 8 worst lyric flubs. They include Will.I.Am checking his cell for his own lyrics and several mess ups on "The Star Spangled Banner". Apparently, the Anthem is pretty tricky stuff....

I'm really surprised at their choice for Jessica Simpson, considering the "9 to 5" performance that got so much attention, but I guess they didn't wanna go for the obvious choice. Kudos to that! Of all the flubs listed here, though, this is my personal favorite....

The randomness of those ad libs (his and the girl who flubbed it after him) is great. They kept going and that's what counts right? So what do you think of these? Are there other flubs out there you would have picked instead? Comment back and let me know! Til next time.

Lessons Learned: Carrie Underwood Vs. Kristin Chenoweth

Hi, everyone! You might remember Carrie Underwood did a TV special a little bit back that featured her performing alongside Kristin Cheonweth and Christina Applegate. They did an incredible medley of songs by the girls groups of the 50s/60s. It's not very surprising, then, that Kristin has covered a Carrie song on her CD, Some Lessons Learned.

CMA Award Nominees.... Rundown and My Wishlist

So the nominees for the CMA Awards were announced today and here is the list. I am so glad to see that there is a great field this year. Add that to another Brad/Carrie hosting appearance and I will definitely be tuning on on November 9th.

So, let's go down the categories, starting wth Entertainer of the Year. I would really love to see either Brad Paisley or Blake Shelton take this one. They both are great and Blake in particular has really been providing a lot of entertainment this year and not just on stage or on The Voice. Check out his tweet about his nominations:

30 Day Song Challenge Returns! Day 14.....

So, I had to modify the song challenge again because I discovered that there was a couple of missing days somehow. I found another one that I will use to not only complete the challenge, but throw out extra categories from time to time. Here is today's challenge:

A Song You Always Turn Up

This is a hard one, cause there are so many songs that I love to crank up! There's nothing better than turning a favorite up and singing along at the top of your lungs. I finally decided to go with "Last Name" by Carrie Underwood. This one is great for blasting because it's fun and full of attitude. It's also a great one to sing along with....lots of big notes! Girl's Night Out and Looking Ahead.....

So, apparently whatever is possessing my TV decided to cut me a break. I got to see the Girl's Night Out special on CBS the other night and what a show it was! They honored Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Nettles, Martina McBride and more.

Each person had a short video played about them and then one of their songs was played by another artist. After that, the honoree got to sing as well. My favorite performance was Carrie's "How Great Thou Art". Other highlights included Little Big Town's version of "Independence Day" and Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley singing "Hell on Heels". Rascal Flatts also did a good job with Reba's "Why Haven't I Heard From You". Here are a few videos from the special... Enjoy! Looking Ahead....

Tomorrow I hope to have a post up about a special program airing Friday.... for now, I would like to mention a couple of cool things I noticed on yahoo news. First off, there's going to be a special called Girl's Night Out on CBS on the 22nd. Just looking at the rundown for this one is getting me excited. All my favorites are going to be there and it looks like the duets are going to be good.

Also... Miranda Lambert is getting into the TV business. Apparently, she and her mother are going to serve as executive producers for a new ABC Family drama. No, it's not going to be about a country singer, but it is something related to her real life. Check out the details here.

CMT's Big Weekend...

So, who caught the CMT Big New Music Weekend? They debuted videos from Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Reba and more. I think the most surprising video was Carrie's. She actually dances a little bit in it! Not sure how I feel about that, but the song is fun and she sounds great.

Miranda's was one of those that actually made me like the song more. I was iffy on the lyrics, but the melody, instrumentation and visuals changed my opinion quite a bit. I don't wanna say too much about the video, cause I think it'll spoil it. Just trust me when I say it's a cute video.

Tim McGraw's Southern Voice is a feel good, relaxing kind of song, although the video kind of bored me. It was clips of him performing at the NLF Kick-Off mixed with clips of him jamming with a bunch of guys outside a store.

Reba's video for Consider Me Gone was different, yet more of the same. While she actually acted out the story herself in "Strange", the new clip has her returning to the narrator role as she plays a designer a girl comes to after having trouble with her guy.

Single Alerts....

Some good news out there for fans of Lady Antebellum and Carrie Underwood. They've both announced what their new singles are going to be. Lady Antebellum will be releasing "I Run to You" while Carrie Underwood is going to release "I Told You So". You can check out youtube clips of them performing these songs below...

Neither of these songs would have been my personal choices for singles, but I have to admit that they are growing on me. They're good songs and Carrie is already getting some buzz for releasing a more "traditional" song. Here's to both becoming hits on the country charts. So what do you think out there?
