Just a warning before I get on with the review- this is going to contain spoilers. Plenty of spoilers. If you'd rather go into it knowing nothing, then I wouldn't go any further. Suffice it to say that I am not the only Sweet Valley fan that was not totally impressed with the new book. For everyone else, here is what happened and what I thought...
The originial Last Vampire series was one of my favorites from Pike. I loved Sita's attitude and how she was not pure good or pure evil. She had that grey area that, to me, makes a character interesting. When I saw that the series had been re-released and was going to be continued I was unsure of how it would turn out. Was it going to be just as entertaining or would it ruin the original?
I first started to read this one after my husband couldn't rave enough about it. I'd never written more than a few poems and short stories for school before and never really felt like I was the creative writer type. Still, I figured I'd check it out. I'm glad I did.
Punky Brewster was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid- I even dressed as Punky one year for Halloween. Naturally, when I heard she had a book coming out I wanted to read it. I'll be frank...
So, I'm sitting here and thinking over some things to write while I listen to Pink's concert special from her Funhouse tour. I really love this special. From the originals to her cover songs, it's perfection and so much fun to watch. I think a huge part of that is the fact that she and her band look like they're having such a great time. When an artist is completely emgrossed in and completely enjoying what they do, you can't go wrong.
If I had to pick some favorites, I would have to go for 1) The cover of "Bohemion Rhapsody" by Queen. It's an incredible song and I was amazed that they were able to do it such justice. 2) I really liked her performance of "Funhouse". It was so much fun to watch and a great representation of the video as well. I would say more, but I have to limit the list a little right? :)
