Third Time's the Charm...

At least, that's what two country singers will be hoping for. Both Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood are setting their sights on new albums in 2009. While Carrie doesn't have a target date, Miranda's is scheduled for sometime in the fall.

I'm already excited for these releases. They two of my favorites and always manage to put together an album that keeps me hitting the "replay" button. I'm hoping also, given the fact Miranda's had what is probably her most successful year yet, that 2009 will be the one that sees her becoming a true star in the country world. The girl deserves more radio play and awards.

As for Carrie... I agree with the fans out there who'd like to see her try a more traditional sound. I think she does great at it and who better to take a risk like that than one of the biggest on radio? It's not like they'd shun her like they considered doing when LeAnn's "Blue" first came out. I think she's due for a more artistic record, don't you? Post your comments and let me know what you think about all this. Take care and see y'all later! I'll leave you with the song that got Miranda her first top 10: Gunpowder and Lead, courtesy of
Kristi on youtube. Enjoy!

I'm with you on both Carrie and Miranda. IMO they're the 2 most exciting forces in country music out there, especially for the future. Both so talented. I think Carrie'd sound better than ever making something more traditional and it'd be great if she took that risk. She should zig while most of the other country ladies are zagging to pop. Miranda's getting better and better as a writer and I can't wait to hear what she's got in store for us!
