Very interesting movie. I ended seeing something about it on a chiller special and finally got to watch it last night. If you don't want to know some of the plot details, I would suggest skipping most of this post. Suffice it to say it was a very well acted movie (particularly the lead child) and was pretty creepy so it's great if you're looking for something to give you a little scare. That said.... on to more specific plot details.

So, the movie follows a couple who has two children and recently lost a third at birth. The couple decide to adopt a young russian girl from an orphanage and, at first, little Esther fits in very well, especially with the youngest daughter who is mostly deaf. Soon, though, one of the kids who has been teasing Esther at school gets hurt and one of the nuns at the orphanage turns up dead, causing the mother to look into their new kid's background more closlely. Turns out there is more to Esther's story then they guessed.
The movie is in many ways similar to the movie The Good Son starring Macaulay Culkin as a troubled child who causes accidents and had murdered his youngest sibling. Still, there are plenty of differences between the two. Overall it was an enjoyable movie and it's nice to see that there are still somewhat original movies out there, given the fact so many new releases are outright remakes.
