CMA Award Nominees.... Rundown and My Wishlist

So the nominees for the CMA Awards were announced today and here is the list. I am so glad to see that there is a great field this year. Add that to another Brad/Carrie hosting appearance and I will definitely be tuning on on November 9th.

So, let's go down the categories, starting wth Entertainer of the Year. I would really love to see either Brad Paisley or Blake Shelton take this one. They both are great and Blake in particular has really been providing a lot of entertainment this year and not just on stage or on The Voice. Check out his tweet about his nominations:

Next we have Female Vocalist of the Year. I think there is no doubt that Carrie or Miranda should win and if I had my choice, one of them would. We'll have to see what the voters think....

Male Vocalist is, for me anyway, a contest between Brad and Blake again. I love their voices and think they have been doing some great music this year.

New Artist of the Year is really hard for me. I absolutely love Chris Young and have since Nashville Star. His new single is also one of my favorites of this year. Still The Band Perry is awesome as well and I think they have only gotten better since that first single "Hip to My Heart". Vocal Group of the Year would be more easily answered by saying as long as Rascal Flatts doesn't win. I really can't pick between the other 4 nominees. Although Lady A and LBT have really been wining points with me for their great spoof and cover videos.

For me, the Vocal Duo award can only go to Sugarland. What else can I say? They really won me over with "Stuck Like Glue" and that "Live on the Inside" DVD.

Single of the Year features some of my favorite songs, but I think The Band Perry should win. The words to this song are beautiful and the melody is haunting...

I gotta sit out Album of the Year since Speak Now is the only one I have had the chance to hear yet. It's a good disc, though, so if she won I'd be happy with it.

Song of the Year, again, should go to The Band Perry and I hope it does.

Vocal Event of the Year is a three-way competition. Kelly and Jason sounded great together and who couldn't love Lorettea Lynn teaming up with Miranda and Sheryl Crow? Alan Jackon and The Zac Brown Band were also an amazing pairing.

Music Video of the Year kind of pains me, but I have to give it to Taylor. As much as I have an issue with the song lyrics, I do think it's got a great melody and the video is very well done. Very cartoony and fun with a silent movie influence thrown in.

So there ya have it! CMA Nominees. Who do you want to win? Comment back with your favorites...
