REM is no more....

It's the end of an era for a lot of fans out there. REM has announced that they are disbanding after 30 years of making music together. I guess it's both surprising news and not surprising. You figure they survived this long together they'd pretty much keep going til they literally can't anymore. Still, after several decades you can easily see them deciding they've done all they can do and going their seperate ways. I was more of a casual myself (actually Losing My Religion and Stand drove me nuts back when they first came out and later grew on me) but here is one I always liked:

Brooks and Dunn- A Look Back (Part 2)

Here is another one of my personal favorites from Brooks and Dunn. It's a performance of Red Dirt Road:



This is one of the first Brooks and Dunn songs I remember hearing and it's always stuck with me. I love how it's kind of touching on nostalgia and innocence while, at the same time, reflecting on the loss of that innocence. The narrator is remembering his small town childhood and finding Jesus, while also talking about crashing his first car and having that first beer. What do you all think of this song? The End of an Era...

After 20 years together, Brooks and Dunn have decided that they are going to part ways. They have a greatest hits album in the works as well as a tour that will be going on in 2010.

I think this would be a good time to relect on the duo and their career, so keep an eye on the blog over the next few days. See ya next time!
