The Voice

So, I have a new TV obsession, The Voice. For those who have not seen it yet, here's a run down. There are four judges (Cee Lo Green, Adam Levin of Maroon 5, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton. The judges sit in huge chairs with their backs to the contestants so they can not see who is singing... they're just focusing on their voice. When a judge decides they really like a person, they press a button that allows them to turn around and see the singer.

Here is where it gets a little interesting. The judges are competing as well! When they hit that button, they are saying they want to have the singer join their team and help develop their talent. If more than one judge turns around, it's up to the contestant to choose who will be their mentor.

So far, there have been two episodes and the blind auditions are over. Each judge/mentor is now going to work with their group of artists to develop their talents before cutting their teams down to four. After that, it's up to the voting public to choose who will be "The Voice".

I am really loving this show right now. The singers are very talented and the judges are hilarious... lots of great chemistry and some friendly competition (I personally love Blake trying to steer people away from Cee Lo by saying he'll have them dressing weird). Christina is pretty amusing as well, trying to convince the girl singers she wants they Cee Lo or Adam will be hitting on them all the time. If you haven't seen this show yet... tune in! It's on NBC at 10 PM this coming Tuesday. You can also likely catch up on all the action by checking out NBC.com. For now... I leave you with what is by far my favorite performance from the show...
