Weird Al's Alpocalypse Tour

Weird Al has a new album out and a concert special to go with it! His Alpocalypse tour special is a fun journey through some of Al's hits as well as new material. The show opens with one of his trademark Polka medleys featuring some really fun choices. Poker Face (Lady Gaga), So What (Pink) and Need You Now (Lady Antebellum) were among the songs that got the Polka treatment. As amusing as Al's polka medleys are, he really shines when he's doing spoofs.

Hi, everyone. Today's category in the 30 Day Song Challenge is a song that reminds you of your partner. There is only one song I can use for this....



The minute we first heard that song, we both commented how well that fit us. He especially thinks the line "You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter" is fitting. In other news, at midnight tonight, MTV turns 30. VH1 Classic has been playing all kinds of old shows and specials this weekend to celebrate. At midnight, they are going to air the very first hour broadcast on MTV. Here is a cool write up about the famous logo, the changes it went through with some old promos thrown in.

Taylor's New Single...

So, As you may have heard by now Taylor has a new CD coming out called Speak Now that's due to hit stores in October. "Mine" is the first single from the CD and is now on Itunes.

So, I'm sure y'all know by now that Taylor Swift was at the MTV VMAs last night and won for best female video. I'm sure you also heard what happened when Tayolr went onstage to accept the award. If not, here's the clip:

Taylor Update....

Hey, everyone. Wow, it's been a long time! I'm sorry I haven't been able to update this blog like I used to, but life has gotten in the way a lot in the past few months. I'm doing what I can to get back into the groove. I thought i would stop in and let y'all know what Taylor Swift has recorded a cover song that is available on Rhapsody called "American Girl". Check it out and let me know how it is.

Speaking of covers... did y'all see that crossroads with Def Leppard? If not, head out to Wal Mart and get the DVD. It was a great performance and the DVD features several extended interviews and three songs that were not on the original airing. Here's one clip from youtube of the song "When Love and Hate Collide":

Taylor's Number One...

according to Billboard! GAC reports she's been named the top country artist of the year! Usually, they rank people by both sales and chart performance. The girl seems unstoppable. By the way... in case you haven't heard, her new single is going to be "White Horse". I have to admit, I wasn't exactly thrilled with "Love Story" as a single, but I like it now when put back-to-back with "White Horse". In the first one, she has a cheery, pop-like sound that talks about a fairy-tale romance. In the second song, she sings that she's "not a princess" and "this ain't a fairy tale" showing that the girl from the first song has grown up and has learned a little more about the real world.

Kudos to Taylor and her team for that move. So what do you think of this choice? Do you think the videos will be tied together like Carrie Underwood did with "Last Name"/"Before He Cheats"? Post your thoughts below! Take care and see ya soon!
