Head's Up

For various reasons, I have decided that after several years on Blogger that it would be best to head over to WordPress. I hope that you will all join me over there and enjoy! I've got a bunch of stuff coming...

Wordpress will be where I post the pay it forward blogfest.... head on over to meet some great bloggers on October 14. I also have a really special interview coming soon I'm very excited about. Can't spill any details yet but it's gonna be cool :)

Besides that, there will be more blogfest posts, the 30 Day Song Challenge and much more! I also am very excited to annouce that Call of Poseidon is now available as a print book on Amazon.com. Look At Those Eyes is now online... check it out and comment back with your thoughts! Also be sure to check this page for info about a free download of the song and how it will help to stop bullying. I personally love this video and think it fits the spirit of the song well. It's also very fitting considering the cause that the song is going to help.

People's at it again! This time, they're offering an ITunes play list. I see a few songs on here I'm liking- what about you guys? Keep checking back, cause I'll let you know as other downloads are offered.

By the way.... can't post it yet, but stay tuned to the blog, because in about a week, I'll be posting a link where you can see interviews and performances like the Reba one I shared before (it won't be her, though).

Miranda Lambert "What Are You Gonna Do?"

So, I've been going over the song to get the lyrics and my thoughts down. This, while not on the new CD, isn't all that different from the songs that are. (I got to hear most of the tracks today by chance on XM's The Highway. Check their website to see when the special might be replayed). It's a bit dark lyrically and melodically, playing on the 'be careful what you wish for' theme. One of my favorite lines is in the chorus:

"You can waste your life looking for something to look forward to. you can chase it, but when you catch it what are you gonna do?"

The song is mid-tempo and accoustically-driven, although it picks up during the chorus as other instruments join in. Miranda's vocals are great, better than most of her other work so far (something that appears to be the case for the disc as well). If you haven't been able to download it, check youtube- this is a must hear for Miranda fans... especially if you love stuff like "More Like Her" and "Desperation".

So, Amazon.com is offering a download of a Miranda Lambert track called "What Are You Gonna Do". I'll have a full review of the track tomorrow, but for now.... here's the link where you can get it yourself.

Be a Hero...

Hi, everyone! I wanted to let you know I just found out Laura Bryna is part of a program called "Be a Humane Hero" that is raising funds for the Nashville Humane Association. Apparently, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton have started their joint tour and I'm wishing I could go. She seems like an awesome performer and I love Blake's song "Old Red".
